Fur Free Friday

November 28th, 2008

Thank You for Being Part of The Biggest Anti-Fur Demo in the World!

This year, over 100 events took place in 36 countries throughout the world. People on every continent, except Antarctica, saw protestors heartily wishing shoppers and passerby a compassionate holiday season. Activists from San Francisco, California, to Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Moscow, Russia, organized anti-fur events ranging from leafleting to full-scale anti-fur marches.

Click here for a recap of 2008’s events. If you don't see your Fur Free Friday event photos and updates, we want to hear from you. Please e-mail furfree@idausa.org.

And remember, it’s never too early to start thinking about…

Fur Free Friday 2009!

We can also provide you with anti-fur literature and posters as well as fur farm and trapping footage to help you effectively communicate your message. If you’re not able to make it to a demo on November 28th, there are also plenty of ways to help right from your home. And you can Adopt An Activist to help make our demos a success.

For those of you who were unable to participate this year, please join IDA and activists throughout the world next November to make Fur Free Friday 2009 the most powerful anti-fur event to date. It will be held on Friday, November 27th.

Every year, over 50 million animals are brutally killed and skinned to make fur products. While many companies have pledged to go fur-free, other popular brands continue to cause and profit from animal suffering.

Fur Free Friday will be the day after Thanksgiving, all over the country. You can join an event in your area or plan one of your own. Make sure you register your event so IDA can help you publicize it.

This year, we're encouraging activists to hold demonstrations in front of Nordstrom, still a major carrier of fur products. To find the Nordstrom location closest to you, click here.
