It takes an average of 50 mink to make one fur koat. Mink are killed by gassing, poison injection, or have their necks broken.



Foxes living in cramped conditions often resort to cannibalism as a result of a stress-inducing evironment.




Foxes are kept in wire mesh cages on fur farms in all weather extremes - from the searing heat to the freezing cold - with little shelter.




A 1995 study of coyotes trapped in padded leghold traps found that 97% experienced severe swelling to their legs, while 26% suffered lacerations and fractures.

Some animals in traps will be found dead from dehydration, blood loss, hypothermia, or other trap inflicted injuries. Predators eat many of the animals that they find helpless in traps.

Animals on fur farms are often infested with parasites or flies attracted to the excrement that collects under their enclosures. The animals receive no veterinary treatment.




Raccoons are intelligent, curious animals who are good tree climbers and swimmers. They have been known to cover 3 - 5 miles in one night of scavenging for food. It takes 40 raccoons to make one fur coat.
