What You Can Do
The millions of animals who are trapped, drowned, and beaten to death in the wild each year for their fur need your help. Here are six easy ways that you can be a voice for animals killed fur fur:
Organize a demonstration! IDA can provide you with posters, leaflets, and stickers for your event. View our materials. Leafletting Order a supply of leaflets to leave in heavily trafficked areas — on the subway, in the doctor’s office, in your cafeteria — anywhere someone will be likely to pick one up and learn more. You can also include them with your outgoing mail to educate recipients. Order Materials. Write a letter to the editor Write a letter to the editor of your local paper reminding that countless animals had to die — even if the fur on their coat is a just a cuff or collar. See sample letters to the editor, or see talking points you can use to compose your own. Organize a teach-in Organize a teach-in — a ten-minute presentation, followed by ten-minute video and a ten-minute question and answer period. Many weekly papers list such events in their events calendar and space may be reserved at libraries or community centers for free or a small fee. Most libraries will allow local citizens free space where you can display leaflets, posters, books about the cruelty involved in fur farming and trapping, or a leghold trap. Use your imagination!
